Identification Numbers of Medical Practitioners Instead of Personal Codes

In order to safeguard the privacy of medical professionals the amendments in Regulations of Cabinet of Ministers provide they are no more required to indicate their personal codes in medical records and prescriptions. Instead medical professionals are now able to use special identification numbers issued by the Health Inspectorate. Ronalds Rozkalns, attorney at law, has prepared comments on this topic in spring issue of magazine “Medicus Bonus”.
